“Remedies” for fatty liver generally lack evidence-based medical evidence and are therefore not recommended. Fatty liver can be improved through general treatment and drug treatment according to the condition.
1. General treatment: patients with no abnormal liver function generally do not need special intervention, patients can improve their condition by changing their daily diet, avoiding too greasy food, eating more light fruits and vegetables, crude fiber food, reducing fat synthesis, reducing the burden on the liver, and exercising more to accelerate fat consumption.
2. Drug therapy: patients with severe fatty liver combined with abnormal liver function can use liver-protecting drugs, such as glycyrrhizic acid preparation and bicyclic alcohols, on the basis of adjusting lifestyle and diet. Meanwhile, regular follow-up is needed to observe the changes of fatty liver and liver function.
All of the above medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor and avoid self-medication. When fatty liver occurs, do not believe in “small prescription”, should clarify the severity of fatty liver in time, under the guidance of professional doctors for scientific and standardized treatment.
