How to prevent scar growths?

Scar hyperplasia is a common phenomenon among scar patients. Common chemical burns, napalm burns, boiling water, boiling porridge, and hot oil burns often produce severe scars, and the deeper the burn (deeper than II degree trauma), the more pronounced the scar growth. Trauma infection often increases the chance of scar formation and severity, and scar contracture and hyperplasia can seriously affect the patient’s quality of life. Superficial scars can be treated after 3-6 months of stabilization, while hyperplastic scars may take several months to one or two years or longer for symptoms to disappear depending on the physical condition of each patient. It is congested with blood and has a firm texture. There is burning and itching sensation. The main stage of avoiding scar proliferation after injury or surgery is to prevent scars before they are formed and during the period when they are not yet mature. During this period, we try to remove all kinds of factors that cause scar proliferation, reduce the growth of scars, prevent scars from causing various deformities and dysfunctions to the body, and pay attention to minimizing mechanical, chemical and thermal stimulation to the affected area when it is serious, avoiding repeated pulling, rubbing and ulceration, and the occurrence of infection. The main measures to prevent scar growth after burns are: to protect burn wounds after burns, avoid or reduce infection, and try not to make the wounds appear granulation tissue. Once the wound is healed, that is, insist on using elastic bandage or elastic sleeve to pressurize as early as possible, and insist on using it day and night, which can effectively reduce scar contracture and hyperplasia; carry out functional exercise as early as possible to reduce the dysfunction caused by scar contracture, and if patients actively cooperate, they can often obtain more ideal treatment effect. If you know you are a scar patient, you must be careful in your life. In case of accidental injury or surgery, if your physical condition allows and you are thinking normally, you should communicate with your doctor in time and inform him/her of your specific situation, and he/she will choose the most suitable, hidden and short surgical incision to prevent scar proliferation to the maximum extent.
