Bronchitis will heal in a week or so. Bronchitis is an infection of the lower respiratory tract, which is lighter than pneumonia and heavier than upper respiratory tract infections. Bronchitis mostly originates from upper respiratory tract infections, starting with a dry cough that gradually turns into a wet cough, sometimes accompanied by nasal congestion and runny nose, and a fever that may or may not be present. If the infection is caused by a virus, antiviral treatment is given; if it is caused by a bacterial infection, antibiotic treatment is given; if it is caused by mycoplasma or chlamydia, macrolide antibiotic treatment is given. Bronchitis can turn into pneumonia if not treated effectively, so it should be observed during the course of the disease. If the fever does not subside and the mental and appetite are poor, the possibility of turning into pneumonia is very high.
