What are the classifications of cleft palate?

The increasing number of cleft lip and palate patients makes parents and friends feel worried and also affects the appearance of their babies. But it has already happened and should be treated in time. The next step is to introduce the classification of cleft lip and palate, so that parents and friends can learn more about this disease. So, how is cleft palate classified? Cleft palate is usually classified according to the degree of cleft palate: 1. Unilateral complete: the cleft starts from the uvula straight to the incisal foramen and then slopes outward, usually separating from the anterior jaw bone at the unilateral incisor site. Incomplete cleft palate: the cleft involves the soft palate and part of the hard palate, often accompanied by unilateral incomplete cleft lip. The alveolar ridge of the incisal part is intact. 3, Bilateral complete cleft palate: often occurs simultaneously with bilateral complete cleft lip. The cleft is oblique to both sides at the lateral incisors, and the nasal septum is isolated and free in the center. Both sides of the palatal plate sometimes have a tendency to move from horizontal to vertical position, so that the cleft increases and the nasal cavity shrinks. 4, the junction of the hard and soft palate cleft: this deformity is extremely rare, the patient has unclear pronunciation, the soft palate muscles also have deformities.
