Do pediatricians have gynecological disorders too?

Do pediatric patients have gynecological disorders too? One quarter of our life is spent in the pediatric and adolescent stages, which is also an important stage for the growth and development of the female organism, especially the development of female reproductive organs and secondary sexual characteristics. During this period, a series of diseases can occur due to various factors such as genetics, environment, infection, nutrition and medication. Therefore, gynecological disorders can occur in girls as well as adults. Diseases that occur during this period not only cause pain to the patient and parents at the onset, but some even affect the patient for life. What are the common gynecological diseases in children? Inflammatory diseases of the genital organs, such as bacterial vaginitis, candida vaginitis, gonococcal vaginitis, etc.; 2. Labial adhesions, vaginal foreign bodies, vulvar dystrophy, emotional cross-eruption syndrome. 3. Defects and malformations of reproductive organs, such as non-porous hymen, congenital absence of vagina, vaginal transverse septum, abnormal development of uterus; 4. Precocious puberty in girls; 5. Abnormal menstruation during puberty, such as dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, etc.; 6. Vaginal or ovarian tumors. What are the conditions that require a pediatric gynecology consultation? In a broad sense, women from birth to 18 years of age with abnormalities in the reproductive system can be seen at the pediatric gynecology clinic. Specifically, children should be seen if they have any of the following symptoms: abnormal development of the external genitalia during infancy, thin urine stream or bifurcated urine lines, crying during urination, or scratching the vulva with their hands, red, swollen, itchy vulva, purulent discharge with odor or bean curd-like discharge, unexplained vaginal bleeding, hard and tender breasts in prepubescent girls, abnormal menstruation, etc. What are the characteristics of TCM pediatric gynecology treatment for pediatric vaginitis? In view of the characteristics of common pediatric gynecological diseases, our department adopts a combination of Chinese and Western medicine to achieve good results in treatment. For example, according to the characteristics of high incidence and easy recurrence of vulvovaginitis in young girls, we use Chinese medicine with less skin irritation and better antibacterial effect, and adopt the method of external bathing, so that the medicine can reach the disease directly, which is effective. Precocious puberty is a kind of abnormal growth and development, manifested by the early appearance of pubertal characteristics, such as breast development in girls before the age of 8 or the first menstruation before the age of 10. If no intervention is made, the epiphysis will close prematurely and the final height of the child will be lower than that of normal children of the same age, and about 1/3 of the children will not reach 150 cm in height when they become adults. Compared with similar western medicine, it has the advantages of non-invasive and painless, easy and inexpensive, and responds to clinical needs.
