The main conditions with erythema manifesting on the inner thighs that can be treated with topical medication are eczema, contact dermatitis, ringworm and intertriginous rubella.
For erythema caused by eczema and contact dermatitis, herbal wet compresses (when there is exudation) and topical medications such as glucocorticoid ointment and calcium-regulated phosphatase inhibitors can be chosen according to the specific condition of the rash; for erythema caused by fungal infection, topical ointments containing antifungal ingredients are needed.
When the inter-rub rash does not appear to be vesicular and oozing, a topical stove glycolic lotion can be used, and when oozing is present, topical zinc oxide oil can be used.
