High ligation of inguinal hernia sac in pediatric patients

Laparoscopic-assisted pediatric inguinal hernia with high ligation of the hernia sac is a surgical procedure developed to address the characteristics of pediatric inguinal hernia. Characteristics of pediatric inguinal hernia: 1. The proportion of bilateral hernias is about 6%. 2. The operation requires general anesthesia. 3. Only high ligation of the hernia sac can be done, and repair is not appropriate. According to the above characteristics, laparoscopic-assisted pediatric inguinal hernia herniorrhaphy with high ligation of the hernia sac came into being. The advantages are: 1. The presence or absence of contralateral unexpressed hernia can be clarified during laparoscopic-assisted surgery, and for children with bilateral hernia, re-operation can be avoided. 2. For male children, the spermatic cord can be left free, reducing the potential impact on fertility; for female children, the round ligament of the uterus can be left uncut. 3. The overall scar is smaller.
