A brief description of “myopia”

The most common and nagging ocular change in myopic patients is “eye lengthening”. As the diameter of the eye increases, the retina on the inside of the corresponding eye wall cannot lengthen accordingly, which can easily lead to the “four complications” of myopia, including retinal detachment, glaucoma These include retinal detachment, glaucoma, cataract, and fundus hemorrhage. Today, leaving aside the genetic factors of myopia, I would like to give my personal opinion on what daily activities can aggravate myopia. Perhaps, many people have such experience, in front of the computer, cell phones, when fully focused on completing the task of video games, often forget the time, forget to rest, along with the end of a game, multiple games, look up often feel a blur in the distance, if this time we optometry, we will find that the eyes are in an over-adjusted myopic state. After looking at the distance for a period of time, the distant scene can be partially or fully restored to clarity, and those that can be restored are what we often call “pseudomyopia”, while those that are not restored become what we often call “true myopia”, with multiple drops of “true myopia”. The superposition of “true myopia” causes the myopia to climb. In fact, whether we are watching TV, computers, cell phones, books or night lights off after reading cell phones, etc. will more or less the above situation, and for example: we work long hours in front of the computer, green bus home from work, continue to struggle on the cell phone, not only cause myopia patients continue to increase, and the number of adult personnel myopia is also increasing. Therefore, no matter what close work we do, one of the principles is that it must not happen to see blurred vision when looking at a distance, which happens to prove that we have just overused our eyes, and next time we must reduce the time spent with our eyes for this activity to ensure that this does not happen. There are various treatments for myopia, such as wearing regular glasses, contact lenses, excimer laser, and intraocular IOL implants, all of which only address the refractive problem in an artificial way, while the pathological changes that actually occur in the eye itself remain unresolved. In other words, as the degree of true myopia increases, the incidence of the four major complications also increases proportionally.
