Strict abstinence from sex for a few days after hysteroscopy

The duration of abstinence varies according to the purpose of the hysteroscopic operation. For example, for hysteroscopy, if the patient has no special conditions and no gynecological inflammation, intercourse is usually possible after 2 weeks. For hysteroscopic operations, on the other hand, it is recommended to wait 1 month before having intercourse. Usually after hysteroscopy, if the patient has no special conditions, you can have intercourse 2 weeks after the examination, and if there is discomfort, you need to extend the abstinence time depending on the situation. Hysteroscopic surgery, such as endometrial resection, submucosal myomectomy and separation of uterine adhesions, can cause different degrees of damage to the endometrium. Therefore, abstinence should be at least 1 month after hysteroscopic operation and intercourse should be performed after the patient’s menstrual flow is clean. If the patient has intercourse within 1 month, it may cause infections such as endometritis and bilateral tubal infections because the trauma has not yet healed after the operation. In conclusion, it is not recommended for patients to have intercourse too early after hysteroscopy, and to observe the amount of vaginal bleeding after surgery. At the same time, you should keep good rest and pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva and avoid eating spicy and oily food.
