Fundus diseases, which have a high incidence and a long course, often receive good results if the diet is adjusted in a rational and targeted manner. What we eat three meals a day has different healing effects depending on the type.
The more common thermal fundus diseases include optic neuritis, optic disc vasculitis, acute retinal pigment epitheliitis, retinal perivasculitis, chorioretinitis, etc. The more common miscellaneous fundus diseases include ischemic optic neuropathy, central plasma chorioretinopathy, retinal vascular obstruction, optic nerve atrophy, age-related macular degeneration, etc.
Meat is mainly used for miscellaneous fundopathies, or as an adjunct to the recovery period of febrile fundopathies. Beef and mutton have the effect of benefiting qi and nourishing blood to brighten the eyes; liver, chicken and duck nourish the kidney and benefit essence and blood; pork, eggs and duck eggs nourish liver and kidney and nourish yin liquid; fish have the effect of nourishing the kidney and benefiting qi and nourishing yin to nourish the eyes. However, such food should be eaten in small quantities and not overeat.
Plants are mostly used in the auxiliary treatment of thermal fundus, such as winter melon, loofah, bitter gourd, amaranth, celery, mung beans, red beans, kelp, etc. have the effect of clearing heat and detoxification, diuresis, blood circulation, while yellow rice, sorghum rice, corn, millet, soybeans, black sesame, fungus can benefit the blood and brighten the eyes. Although these foods are mainly used as an adjunct to the treatment of hot fundus, they can also be consumed by those who have insufficient Qi and blood for miscellaneous fundus.
In addition to providing common vitamins, some fruits are also very suitable for hot fundus, such as pear, apple, orange, pineapple, peach, apricot, watermelon, etc. For miscellaneous fundus, it is best to eat more chestnuts, walnuts, lotus hearts, longan, and red dates.
The effects of these foods have been confirmed by long-term clinical observation, but broken down, there are differences between various foods. For example, pears, oranges and watermelons are more suitable for uveitis and acute optic neuritis, while chestnuts, longan and red dates are more effective for optic nerve atrophy and retinal pigment degeneration.
