Acute pancreatitis requires vigilance

The consequences of overeating are serious Nowadays, the standard of living is getting better and better, more and more people are becoming obese, and the incidence of pancreatitis is also increasing. It is not uncommon for overeating to lead to pancreatitis, and four patients with pancreatitis were admitted to our hepatobiliary surgery department within a week, all related to improper diet. So far, acute pancreatitis is still a difficult disease to treat, the reason for this is that there are many complications, and untimely treatment or the disease itself can lead to serious consequences. The morbidity and mortality rate of acute pancreatitis is 10%, and almost all deaths are first episodes, and the presence of whistling insufficiency or hypocalcemia suggests a poor prognosis. Severe necrotizing pancreatitis has a 50% or higher mortality rate, which can be reduced by surgical treatment. However, in addition to this, the high cost is currently unaffordable for many families. The etiology of acute pancreatitis is not fully understood, with alcoholism being a common causative factor in most Western as well as Asia-Pacific countries, while biliary tract disease predominates in China. It is now believed that pancreatic duct obstruction, bile reflux, impaired blood flow, activation of pancreatic enzymes and disruption of pancreatic defense mechanisms are the direct causes of this disease. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid alcohol abuse, to pay attention to the diet of patients with biliary tract diseases, and to exercise more in general, so as to reduce the chances of committing the disease.
