Causes of itching in the vulva

  There are several conditions to pay attention to: 1, local skin unclean: some women use toilet paper improperly, the vulvar skin is impregnated by menstrual blood, vaginal secretions, and even urine, feces and sweat, which causes chronic inflammation of the local skin, thus causing vulvar itching.  2. Trichomonas vaginalis infection: When the acidity of vaginal mucosa is reduced, the production of lactic acid is reduced, which makes Trichomonas vaginalis infection easy to occur, manifesting as foamy leucorrhea and vulvar itching.  3, mycobacterial infection: women suffering from diabetes or long-term application of antibacterial agents that cause dysbiosis of normal flora, Candida albicans in mycobacteria are prone to invade the vulva and vagina, and mycotic vulvovaginitis and vaginitis occurs, often appearing as beanbag-like leucorrhea and vulvar itching.  4, parasitic infection: pinworms mainly invade young girls, adult women can also be infected, when the anus is relaxed at night, pinworms crawl out of the rectum to swim to the vulva to mate and lay eggs, and stimulate the mucous membrane of the vulvar skin, causing local itching. When scabies infection causes scabies, the external skin lesions are the most serious, so local itching is also the most obvious. The pubic louse is manifested as intense itching in the area of long pubic hair, and grayish-white nymphs or lice the size of small grains of rice can be found on the root of pubic hair or hair pole.  5, drug rash: allergic to taking sulfonamides or other drugs caused by the “fixed drug rash”, often occurs in the vulva at the junction of the skin and mucous membrane, in addition to local itching, can be complicated by erosion, exudate. The use of drugs for vaginal douching or intravaginal insertion, such as allergic reactions and contact dermatitis can also occur vulvar itching.  6. Vulvar dermatosis: The skin damage of tinea cruris often expands to the vulva, causing intense local itching. Eczema and neurodermatitis of the vulva cause even more intense local itching, the former manifesting as papular blisters and vesicular ooze with unclear local skin boundaries, and the latter often showing thickened skin moss with mossing due to scratching. In addition to local itching, vulvar leukoplakia is often accompanied by vulvar dystrophy and skin atrophy.  7, viral infection: most of the warts occur in the female vaginal wall, the cervical opening and vulva, but also appear with foul-smelling leucorrhea.   8, other: such as dermatophytosis, eczema and other fungal infections.
