Is osteomyelitis treatable?

Osteomyelitis can be treated for some patients, especially during acute osteomyelitis episodes, and can be well relieved with timely antibiotics and related treatment measures such as incision and decompression. However, if chronic osteomyelitis occurs, it is more difficult to treat than acute osteomyelitis. Because of the formation of dead bone in the medullary cavity in chronic osteomyelitis, it often requires incision to remove the dead bone tissue and, if necessary, some external fixation to allow new bone to replace the dead bone, and the operation takes a long time. However, if there are long-term sinus tracts in the skin, pus flow, and the possibility of malignancy, it is relatively tricky to treat.
