Advantages of tension-free inguinal hernia repair surgery

Inguinal hernia is a common and frequent disease in the elderly, which affects the quality of life of patients to varying degrees and even endangers their lives. Since 2000, our hospital (Nanjing Hospital of Integrative Medicine) has introduced a new method of outpatient surgery for tension-free hernia repair under local nerve block anesthesia in the United States, and has used different repair surgical methods according to the specific conditions of patients. The new surgical method has the following advantages: (1) Local nerve block anesthesia, low risk of anesthesia, wide range of surgical indications, and no fasting before and after surgery.     (2) Small incision (4 cm), absorbable sutures, no need to remove stitches.     (3).Less postoperative pain, no need to insert urinary catheter, no urinary retention after surgery, no pain.     (4), less money spent (3000 yuan less than normal surgery), fast recovery, especially welcomed by elderly patients.
