ICL/TICL Implantable IOL
There are many ways to correct myopia, and corneal refractive surgery has been accepted by most patients, but for highly myopic patients and patients with thin corneas or corneal abnormalities, choosing corneal refractive surgery is riskier. I. Surgery Introduction
ICL (Implantable Contact Lens) or TICL (Toric Implantable Contact Lens) is the abbreviation of “Implantable IOL”, which can correct astigmatism. ICL/TICL is one of the most advanced and safest products for myopia correction in the world, and is widely used both at home and abroad. The lens is manufactured in Switzerland by STAAR Surgical and uses the patented material Collamer, which is close to the natural lens of the human body and has excellent biocompatibility, and can be permanently implanted in the human eye without requiring maintenance for a lifetime.
II. Surgical Features
The ICL/TICL implantation procedure is simple and painless and is characterized by
1. The surgery time is short, only 15 minutes;

Indications
1.Myopia from 200 degrees to 2000 degrees, astigmatism from 100 degrees to 500 degrees.
2.Age between 18 and 50 years old;
3, preoperative anterior chamber depth ≥ 2.8mm, anterior chamber angle open; corneal endothelial cell count > 2000 cells/mm2;
4, no glaucoma, cataract, uveitis, fundus disease and other eye diseases and eye trauma history, no diabetes, hyperthyroidism, systemic immune diseases and other medical history;
5.Patients with thin cornea or dry eye disease, not suitable for LASIK surgery.
Fourth, the process of medical treatment
1, the examination needs two days to complete, please arrange sufficient time to come to the center, if you wear corneal contact lenses, please stop wearing 1 week, RGP, please stop wearing 1 month.
2.Checkup items include: binocular vision, intraocular pressure, corneal topography, dilated pupil examination, corneal thickness measurement, slit lamp examination, fundus examination, UBM examination, corneal endothelial lens examination, A ultrasound examination, IOL Master examination, and small pupil refractive examination.
3. After all the examinations, the doctor will determine whether you are suitable for ICL surgery based on your examination results and make an appointment to order a lens. The lens will be custom-made by STAAR Surgical in Switzerland, and the waiting period is about 1 week to 1 month.
4.After the surgery is confirmed, please undergo “bilateral iris laser perimetry” in the outpatient clinic in advance to avoid high postoperative pressure.
5.We will notify you by phone after the crystal is in place, please come to the center one day before the surgery for pre-surgery preparation, if the surgery for both eyes need to be separated by one day.
V. Surgical procedure

1. You will need a few drops of surface anesthetic eye solution before surgery;
2. First, the surgeon makes an incision in your cornea less than 3.0mm and injects a special gel to protect the intraocular tissue;
3. Then, a special pusher is used to gently push the ICL/TICL into your eye and adjust the IOL position so that it is located in the ciliary sulcus behind the iris.
4.Finally, the gel is flushed out of the eye and antibiotic eye ointment is applied to end the surgery.
VI. Postoperative Precautions
1.The second day after surgery, you can use your eyes normally, work and study;
2.Please follow the doctor’s prescription for one week after surgery;
3, 1 week after surgery, please avoid dirty water into the eye, please do not rub the eye or squeeze the eyeball;
4.Please do not swim, wear eye makeup or perform eye beauty treatment within 1 month after surgery;
5.Please come to the hospital for review 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and 2 years after surgery.
