Do you have to squeeze out the pus from your ear piercing?

If the symptoms are mild, local disinfection such as iodophor or alcohol can be used without squeezing out the pus from the ear hole. However, if the pus is more severe, you need to go to the hospital for incision and drainage and related treatment. Pus in the ear hole indicates secondary infection, mainly due to poor hygiene habits. In mild cases, local disinfection is sufficient and no other medication is usually necessary. If the symptoms of redness and pus are not relieved after the above treatment, but worsened, local antibiotic ointment should be applied or oral antibiotics should be taken to control the infection. It is recommended to visit the ENT department of the hospital, and if necessary, the doctor can perform incision and drainage of pus to promote wound healing. During the treatment period, it is forbidden to wear earrings, and local attention should be paid to dryness and cleanliness, as well as a light diet, avoiding colds, drinking more water and taking rest.
