Will ear piercing pus go away on its own if you don’t squeeze it out?

An abscess in the ear hole is usually due to inadequate cleaning. If the abscess is large and the redness and swelling are obvious, it is difficult to subside on its own. Pustules in ear piercings are most often considered to be due to unclean operation during ear piercing, resulting in chronic local inflammation or secondary bacterial infection. If the abscess is small, it does not require special treatment and can subside on its own. However, if the abscess is large and accompanied by obvious inflammatory symptoms such as redness, swelling and pain, it will be difficult to subside on its own. In this case, patients are advised to visit the ENT department of the hospital, disinfect and apply antibiotic ointment under the guidance of the doctor, and if necessary, surgical treatment can be performed to cut open the abscess and drain it. Patients are advised not to eat spicy and stimulating food during this period, and to keep it light. Patients can also use alcohol and other disinfection, but do not squeeze out the pus by yourself to avoid aggravating the condition.
