The best way to treat myopia

The best way to treat myopia varies from person to person. (1) For pseudomyopia, the main treatment is to release the tension in the ciliary muscle, such as using ciliary muscle paralyzing drops, looking into the distance, and reducing the amount of time spent in each near eye. (2) In case of true myopia, the treatment options are: wearing frame glasses, wearing corneal contact lenses, corneal refractive surgery and intraocular refractive surgery. Wearing frame glasses is the most commonly used treatment method; for large refractive difference between the eyes and high myopia, or do not want to wear frame glasses can choose to wear corneal contact lenses; corneal refractive surgery is to surgically change the shape of the cornea to correct refractive error, for patients who do not want or occupation does not allow optical correction of myopia; intraocular refractive surgery is mostly used for corneal conditions do not allow corneal refractive surgery. Intraocular refractive surgery is mostly used for myopic patients whose corneal conditions do not allow corneal refractive surgery. In addition, the current methods of controlling myopia development include bifocal and multifocal frames, rigid gas permeable corneal contact lenses (RGP), and OK lenses. It is important to note that there is no cure or reversal of myopia, and the above mentioned methods are only for controlling the onset and progression of myopia. In short, the most suitable treatment method should be chosen according to your refractive status.
