How to avoid the risk factors of preterm birth

  According to statistics, preterm births account for 8% to 10% of all newborns in China. The lighter the weight, the more difficult the survival test. Therefore, while improving the equipment and standard of care for premature babies, the more important issue is how to prevent premature birth.  Risk factors related to preterm birth Prevention is better than cure. There are many diseases related to preterm birth, and early recognition of possible risk factors and avoidance or active treatment can reduce the occurrence of preterm birth.  (1) Socioeconomic aspects: low income, low educational level, age less than 16 or more than 40 years, poor nutrition.  (2) Medical history: miscarriage, previous preterm birth, uterine abnormalities, kidney disease.  (3) Life style: heavy workload, smoking, emotional anxiety.  (4) Obstetric conditions: bacteriuria, hypertension, multiple pregnancy, hemorrhage, excessive or low amniotic fluid, infection, sepsis, early water breakage, incomplete cervical atresia.  Signs of preterm labor: Since only 50% of preterm births can have their associated causes identified, early occurrence and early treatment are the only rules to prevent preterm birth.
