35-year-old male, complained of painful swelling of the right distal humerus and limitation of active and passive movement of the elbow joint for 1 year; history: 1 year ago, the patient suffered an open fracture of the distal humerus of degree II due to a car accident and was treated with debridement, incision and internal fixation, and Irizanov external fixation brace with Kirschner pins in a specialized hospital; the wound healed well, and 1.5 months later the Irizanov external fixation brace was removed for unknown reasons and external fixation in plaster was continued. The wound healed well. At present, the patient came to our hospital for treatment. X-ray: treatment strategy: debridement, Kirschner’s pin, repositioning after re-debridement, Kirschner’s pin combined with Irizanov external fixation; after 3 months, removal of external fixation, anterior and posterior soft tissue release of the elbow joint, and start of progressive rehabilitation exercises, elbow flexion and extension function basically restored, no pain. Mild swelling and no pain.
