Frequent urination in women

Female patients who experience frequent urination and inability to urinate are advised to seek further consultation at a hospital to clarify the specific cause. Possible causes are as follows: 1. When urinary tract infection occurs, there can be obvious urinary frequency, urinary urgency, painful urination, accompanied by a feeling of incomplete urination, and some patients may also have symptoms such as back pain and fever. It is recommended that urine specimens be taken for routine urine examination and urine culture to rule out the presence of infection. If an infection is diagnosed, anti-infection treatment is needed.2. Urinary stones, such as bladder stones or lower ureteral stones, can cause urinary tract irritation, with frequent and incomplete urination. It may also be accompanied by pain in the area where the stone is located, such as pain in the small abdomen or pain in the lower abdomen. An ultrasound examination of the urinary system is recommended to rule out the presence of stones.3. Decreased bladder function, mostly seen in elderly patients or patients with neurological dysfunction. Patients will have weak contraction of the bladder forcing muscle, then there may be incomplete bladder emptying with more residual urine, and patients will have a sense of frequent and incomplete urination. Urodynamics and residual urine ultrasonography are recommended to assess bladder contraction and bladder emptying function.
