Recently, the Department of Pediatric Surgery saw two children in a row: 12-year-old Zhengzheng and 1-year-old Jingjing. Zhengzheng was diagnosed with “right adrenal gland giant tumor”, and the imaging showed that the tumor was 175px in diameter, which is clinically difficult to perform minimally invasive lumpectomy for adrenal gland giant tumor with diameter over 125px. Anna was diagnosed with “right congenital renal dysplasia”. Traditional retroperitoneal surgery requires a large incision through the abdominal cavity, which is very traumatic, slow to recover and has a large postoperative scar. Minimally invasive pediatric laparoscopic techniques (laparoscopy and thoracoscopy) are an inevitable trend in the development of future surgical methods. The technical advantage of laparoscopic field of view magnification greatly improves the limitation of small operating space for pediatric surgery and allows simultaneous examination and treatment of more than 40 types of pediatric surgical conditions, truly reflecting the technical advantage of “small space, large field of view”. The technical advantages of “small space, big vision” are truly reflected. With the support of the hospital’s policy of vigorously developing pediatric surgery, Dr. Hao Xiewei, attending physician of our pediatric surgery department, has fully carried out pediatric laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgeries, successfully completed pediatric thoracoscopic mediastinal tumor resection, diaphragm folding repair, pediatric laparoscopic esophageal hiatal hernia, giant colon eradication, cryptorchid descending fixation, inguinal hernia, suturing of the inner ring of syringomyelia, Meckel’s diverticulum resection, ovarian tumor resection and many other types of surgeries. With the new equipment in place, we will further carry out multi-species minimally invasive surgery such as diaphragmatic hernia, pyloric gland hypertrophy, intestinal duplication malformation, congenital anal atresia, adrenal tumor, hydronephrosis, splenectomy, cholecystectomy, etc. The “vision” of pediatric surgery will be more open. The “vision” of pediatric surgery will be more open, and the lumpectomy minimally invasive team’s surgical techniques will definitely go to the next level and break new ground!
