What to prepare before pregnancy

  A woman’s pregnancy is something that her family should rejoice and celebrate, and it is something that soon-to-be mothers can only dream of, but in addition to the rejoicing, both spouses need to do a good job of pre-pregnancy preparation in order for the fetus to develop and grow healthily and to achieve optimal fertility. A good pre-conception examination is a very important step. A total of 22 items for women and 17 items for men are included.
  I. Eugenics health examination
  Purpose: To establish a healthy lifestyle, improve risk prevention, awareness and participation consciously.
  Meaning: Avoid risk factors, etc.
  II. Medical history inquiry
  Content: To understand the history of pregnancy and childbirth, disease history, family history, medication use, lifestyle, diet and nutrition, environmental factors, etc.
  Purpose: Whether there are relevant risks (health status, genetic factors, environmental factors, drug effects, etc.)
  Significance: To reduce the occurrence of factors that affect conception and lead to adverse pregnancy outcomes. (e.g. post-pregnancy miscarriage, preterm birth, birth defective baby, stillbirth, stillbirth and abnormal pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, etc.)
  III. Laboratory tests
  ①Secretions (both sides): the female side includes routine leukocyte examination, gonococcal examination, Chlamydia trachomatis examination, cervical exfoliation cytology examination . Mycoplasma, chlamydia and gonococcal examination for men. The purpose is to screen for vaginal inflammation or atopic infections. Reduce miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, intrauterine fetal growth retardation
  ② Semen routine examination (male): including sperm morphology, sperm dynamics and sperm acrosome morphology. The purpose is to check the fertility of men.
  ③Routine blood test (both sides): including hemoglobin, red blood cells, white blood cells and classification, platelets. The purpose is to reduce intrauterine growth retardation due to severe anemia; to reduce neonatal hemorrhagic disease.
  ④Urinary routine examination (both sides): purpose to screen for urinary system level metabolic diseases; significance to reduce genital infections, intrauterine infections, fetal death level intrauterine growth retardation.
  ⑤Blood group (both sides): including ABO blood group level RH positive/negative, aiming to prevent blood group incompatibility, significance to reduce fetal caused miscarriage, stillbirth, stillbirth, etc.
  (6) Serum glucose measurement (female): screening for diabetes mellitus, reducing miscarriage, premature birth, fetal malformation, etc.
  (⑦) Thyroid function test (female): evaluation of thyroid function.
  (⑧) Kidney function test (female): to evaluate kidney function, to guide the choice of fertility timing, and to reduce intrauterine growth retardation.
  ⑨ Liver function and transplantation immunity (both sides): transplantation immunity includes five tests for hepatitis B serology, hepatitis C serology, syphilis spiral antibody test and HIV antibody screening. The purpose is to guide the choice of the timing of childbirth and to reduce miscarriage, preterm birth and fetal malformation.
  ⑩TORCH virus test (both sides): Eugenics 4, including rubella virus, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex virus and Toxoplasma gondii. Any one of these pathogenic microorganisms can easily cause miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, fetal malformation or disabled child.
  11 chromosome examination (both sides): this is an optional test.
  IV. Imaging examination
  Gynecological intracavitary ultrasound examination to screen the uterus and ovaries for abnormalities. Male scrotal ultrasound examination to exclude testicular diseases.
  V. Risk assessment and counseling guidance
  Assessment of risk factors, health promotion, guidance on implementation of preventive measures to reduce risk.
  Early pregnancy and pregnancy outcome follow-up
