What is the cause of the pain on the left scalp?

Causes of pain in the left scalp are as follows.
Skin infection (usually caused by a hair follicle infection) or trauma, which needs to be checked in hospital.
If the infection is not serious, topical application of iodophor is sufficient. If it is more extensive or if topical medication alone is not effective, oral antibiotic treatment may be given.
The pain can usually be gradually reduced with effective treatment.
If the infection is severe, local debridement and regular dressing changes are required.
Neurogenic headache, which can be radiating pain from the skin or from the muscles, needs to be further clarified by completing relevant investigations such as cranial CT, blood tests and ultrasound at the hospital.
In addition, the possibility of herpes zoster needs to be considered for unilateral scalp pain.
