When to take ibuprofen

The time to take ibuprofen depends on the therapeutic effect of ibuprofen, the type of disease, etc. Ibuprofen is a common antipyretic and analgesic drug in clinical practice. If it is used for temporary fever reduction treatment, it will normally be taken after fever over 38.5℃, and can be repeated every 6 hours and used no more than 4 times in a day. If it is due to localized pain in the body, such as headache, muscle or joint pain, it is recommended to take it about 1-2 hours after a meal, as patients may experience adverse reactions in the digestive tract such as nausea and vomiting after taking ibuprofen orally. In addition, when patients use ibuprofen to reduce fever, it is recommended not to use it for more than 3 days in a row; when it is used for pain relief, it should not be used for more than 5 days in a row to avoid the decrease of efficacy and damage to the gastrointestinal tract. Patients should not take other antipyretic and analgesic drugs at the same time, and it is also not recommended to drink alcohol or drinks containing alcohol.
