Can diabetes type 2 be completely treated?

Usually diabetics cannot be completely cured. Diabetes is mainly categorized into type 2 diabetes and type 1 diabetes, and usually both cannot be cured. Type 2 diabetes is caused by a relative lack of insulin secretion by the pancreas due to various reasons, resulting in blood glucose in the blood exceeding the normal range. Usually, type 2 diabetes cannot be completely cured because of the damage to the pancreatic β-cells, resulting in insufficient insulin secretion leading to elevated blood glucose, most of which need to be controlled by diet, exercise and medication. Mildly elevated blood glucose can be controlled by diet and exercise therapy. When the above methods are poor in controlling blood glucose, it is necessary to consider the use of hypoglycemic drugs, such as metformin tablets, acarbose, glimepiride tablets and other hypoglycemic treatments, and the use of insulin hypoglycemic treatment if necessary. It is recommended that diabetic patients consult an endocrinologist for relevant treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
