Summer is a high incidence season for burns because of the hot weather, thin clothing and exposed skin. Among burn patients, children under 10 years old account for 50%, especially children aged 1 to 3 years old, who are just walking and have poor self-protection ability, strong imitation of adults and curiosity, no foreknowledge of external danger factors and insufficient coordination of movements, so if parents are a little negligent, the risk of burns is very easy to occur. Most of the burns in children occur in family life, and parents don’t know what to do when they see their children burned. In fact, the early treatment of burns is very simple, and also very effective. 1, flush with cold water: burns, immediately after the blisters and obviously feel pain, belong to the shallow, you can immediately flush the injury with cold water for half an hour to an hour, feel not very painful, take off the clothing slowly, cover the trauma with a clean cloth, bandage, and then sent to a hospital with the ability to treat burns. Early cold water treatment is very beneficial to the healing of the wound, firstly, it can reduce pain, and secondly, it can reduce edema and deep tissue damage caused by residual heat. The initial scald will cause vascular changes, so many plasma-like substances will exude from the blood vessels, after cold water treatment, edema is reduced and less exudation. Thirdly, after soaking and rinsing with cold water, some toxic substances on the trauma can be reduced, and the secondary damage to the trauma will be reduced. Therefore, patients with timely and appropriate early treatment heal faster and the later scarring is lighter. Some burns are small in size and shallow in depth, so after cold water immersion and rinsing treatment, and then treated with special medication for burns, it can promote the healing of the trauma, and it will get better and heal on its own in a few days, even without leaving a scar. If the burn area is large and deep, treatment with cold water may aggravate the systemic reaction and cause shock, and should be immediately sent to a hospital with conditions for rescue treatment. 2, if the burn site in the face, head and neck, perineum, etc., due to the special site, even if the injury area is not large, there may be complications, then in addition to emergency treatment with cold water, in order to prevent the occurrence of shock, you can give the patient to drink some light saline to replenish blood volume and reduce the degree of shock, but do not take a lot of plain water in a short period of time, so as not to trigger complications such as cerebral edema and pulmonary edema. 3, the blisters on the skin do not tear. If possible, the blister can be pierced with a sterilized needle, slowly drain the water from the blister, to keep the skin intact. 4, do not apply soy sauce, vinegar, alkali, toothpaste or purple salve and other things to the injury, which will not only not reduce the injury, but will continue to irritate the wound, deepening the degree of injury, increasing the chances of infection, to the hospital also caused difficulties for the doctor’s diagnosis and treatment, when rinsing these smears will aggravate the pain of the wounded.
