Cerebral thrombosis causes amnesia, which can be recovered in some patients, mainly referring to the lesion of cerebral thrombosis in the temporal lobe and hippocampus. As the lesion causes the patient to develop cognitive decompensation, amnesia can occur. In the acute stage, patients can be treated with thrombolysis, antiplatelet aggregation, blood circulation, oxygen free radical scavenging, brain protection, etc. Some patients can significantly reduce or recover from the amnesia symptoms. If the patient’s cerebral thrombosis causes amnesia due to recurrent cerebrovascular disease and causes vascular dementia, there is little chance of recovery. In patients with vascular dementia, the course of the disease progresses slowly and gradually, and patients can be given oral medications to improve brain cell metabolism, such as cerebrolysin or cytarabine, which can only slow down the development of the disease but cannot reverse it. Therefore, the possibility of recovering from memory loss in vascular dementia is very small.
