Two common clinical abnormalities of semen

  1. Prolonged liquefaction time or non-liquefaction of semen: fresh semen specimens that do not liquefy even at room temperature for more than 60 minutes are called delayed liquefaction of semen, commonly associated with prostatitis. Prolonged liquefaction time or non-liquefaction of semen can inhibit the motility of sperm and affect fertility. However, the viscosity of semen and the liquefaction process are extremely complicated, and secretions from the prostate and seminal vesicles can affect its liquefaction, but liquefaction is also related to the room temperature. 2. Bloody semen: Any semen that is bright red, light red, dark red or soy sauce colored and contains a large number of red blood cells is called bloody semen. It is commonly seen in non-specific inflammation of the prostate and seminal vesicles, tuberculosis of the reproductive system, tumors, stones, and also in injuries of the reproductive system.
