Nowadays, more and more patients come to our hospital from abroad, and pediatric orthopedic patients need long-term follow-up, but many patients and friends cannot come to the clinic for face-to-face consultation because of the long distance, busy work and many outpatients, etc., so they choose the form of telephone consultation. From the response of patients who apply for telephone consultation, it is a better way to supplement the consultation. We would like to share with you our views on several issues related to telephone consultation. You need to be well prepared before applying for a telephone consultation in order to make good use of the hard-won 15 minutes. First of all, the patient’s family should write down the recent situation of the child in advance. The focus is on: 1. The diagnosis is clear or not. Evidence of a definite diagnosis, such as X-rays, CT, MRI, and other orthopedic necessary imaging data should be passed on. I can have a better understanding of the condition after reading it. If additional tests are needed, I will explain in detail over the phone. (If you need to know how to upload examination information, please refer to my article “About uploading pictures”) 2. There may be several treatment options. You can ask the local or past doctors for their methods and write them down. We can communicate with you by phone to develop the best treatment plan for you. 3, 15 minutes of full telephone communication, the amount of information obtained, no less than the outpatient face-to-face consultation. 4.In view of the fact that online communication cannot replace face-to-face consultation, you need to make your own judgment and consider whether you need to go to the local hospital for further consultation and treatment in time.
