How can ulcerative colitis patients enhance their nutrition?

  Patients should develop good dietary habits and use soft, easily digestible and nutritious foods in their daily diet. Avoid eating foods that are irritating and cause intestinal irritation.  1. Stop drinking milk and other dairy products.  One of the liquids you may need to avoid is milk. You can temporarily stop drinking milk for a few days to see if things improve to determine if the intestinal discomfort is caused by milk. Consume skimmed dairy products, or if you are lactose intolerant, go with de-lactose milk. Many people with lactose intolerance can receive low-fat yogurt. Use low-fat cheese or cheese made from soybeans, and replace milk with soy milk.  2. Try some easily digestible and highly nutritious baby food.  3. Take protein supplements and eat more refined proteins.  Consume skinless turkey or chicken for protein. Eat steamed or baked seafood instead of fried. Meat to lean meat, or directly eat meat loaf.  4. Drink fruit juice to replace the large amount of fluid loss.  5. The diet should be changed to one high in fiber to prevent further attacks, but add it slowly.  If you plan to add fiber such as wheat bran to your diet, it should be added slowly so that your body has sufficient time to adapt. Otherwise, adding too much at once may produce bloating eating had fiber foods. The best fiber belongs to the non-soluble ones – bran, brown rice, whole grains such as cereals (whole and unprocessed), fruits and vegetables.  The following diets can help fight colitis: oat bran and lettuce in a blender to make juice to drink, or add 1 tablespoon of oat bran or rice bran directly to juice or cereal, which helps the formation of mounds. Alternatively, aerobic bulk cleanser (ABc) can be added to the juice and consumed in the morning when you wake up on an empty stomach. Control the intake of fat.  Take a low-fat diet. Fats and oils can aggravate dysentery caused by colitis. Eliminate fried foods, fatty sauces, greasy foods, whole milk and cheese from your diet. Spicy food and coffee and other stimulating drinks should also be avoided.  8, avoid eating fruit on an empty stomach.  It is best to eat after meals, fruit juice needs to be diluted with mineral water, take while dining or after meals.
