The first 36-48 hours after surgery are prone to bleeding and swelling, and the wrapped gauze must be secured. After 36 hours, remove all gauze (including the small piece of gauze on the eyelid) and clean the corner of the eye with dry cotton swabs or gauze. The wound does not need special cleaning in the first three days, and you should not use alcohol and other disinfectant to wash it freely, so as not to affect the healing. After gauze removal, you need to open your eyes more to form double eyelids, which are very swollen and wide at this time, and it takes 1-2 days to see the shape generally, as long as both sides are basically symmetrical and the curve is smooth, there is no big problem. On the 4th day after surgery, you can go to the hospital to clean the wound or scrub the wound with 75% alcohol or 0.5% Andover with a cotton swab, once a day at most. The stitches will be removed on the sixth day after surgery (if the surgery is performed on Friday, the stitches will be removed on the following Thursday, and so on). You can take a shower the day after the stitches are removed, but you should not rub your eyes for a month. After the stitches are removed, the swelling does not completely subside, and the eyelids are still wide, and will generally narrow by about a quarter after 3 months. Eye opening: There must be different degrees of scarring, but it is not obvious when the stitches are first removed, and the peak period is 3 months, after which it takes about 1 year for the scarring to fade. Ptosis: Failure to close the eyes completely after surgery can lead to exposure keratitis, which can be painful, photophobic, tearful, and ultimately affect vision, and must be taken very seriously. Eye drops or artificial tears should be applied once every 15 minutes during the day, and eye ointment should be applied all over the closed eye at night to prevent dryness of the exposed cornea. The eyes are usually able to close gradually about three months after surgery. Mild Ptosis: If the eyes can close completely after surgery, there is no need for eye drops.
