Venous Thrombosis Symptoms and Treatment

Venous thrombosis is categorized into superficial vein thrombosis and deep vein thrombosis, which have different symptoms and are treated with medication and surgery. 1. The symptoms of superficial venous thrombosis and deep venous thrombosis are different. (1) Superficial venous thrombosis: the typical manifestation is superficial varicose veins with thrombosis, pressure pain and certain low fever. Some patients are combined with infections, and will have high fever and skin erythema. (2) Deep vein thrombosis: limb swelling, limb pain is the most common, some patients have abnormal limb sensation and feel cold skin. 2. Treatment: The treatment methods are medication and surgery. (1) Drug therapy: commonly used drugs are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, used for anti-inflammatory and analgesic; anticoagulant drugs such as warfarin, used to prevent blood clots; thrombolytic drugs such as urokinase, used to dissolve blood clots. (2) Surgical treatment: Catheter thrombectomy is used to release the embolism and restore blood flow; inferior vena cava filter is used to prevent blood clots from falling off.
