Does a tubal exam hurt?

Both of these tests are slightly invasive and painful. The degree of pain varies from person to person and the pain is related to each person’s sensitivity and varies widely. The tubal examination involves the use of a latex tube that is placed into the woman’s uterine cavity and then used as a channel to inject contrast or anti-inflammatory solution into the uterine cavity for the examination of the fallopian tubes. If a woman does not have pelvic inflammatory disease, she can fully understand the examination, relax and cooperate with the doctor before the examination, in most cases there will be no obvious pain. Most of the pain is associated with inflammation and tubal incompetence, and then the pain domain is not excluded for those with low pain. The contrast tube penetrates deep into the uterine cavity and stimulates the uterine tubes causing spasms. A small percentage of people feel pain in the abdomen, even difficult to be deeply affected, and it is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, fatigue and weakness, and in severe cases, fainting and shock. Most of them gradually relieve half an hour after the examination. Knowing the tubal examination, do not have too much stress. Choose a timely examination 3~7 days after menstrual cleansing. After the examination, pay attention not to have intercourse in a hurry and take oral anti-inflammatory drugs to prevent infection under the guidance of your physician.
