Presenting Symptoms and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes

Symptoms of type 2 diabetes mellitus may be characterized by excessive drinking, excessive eating, excessive urination, weight loss, etc. Some patients may not have any symptoms, and the treatment is the five points of comprehensive management of diabetes mellitus, also known as the quintuple troika. 1. (3) Exercise therapy: exercise can increase insulin sensitivity and help control blood glucose and weight. (4) Condition monitoring: monitor fasting blood glucose, postprandial blood glucose, and glycosylated hemoglobin, and also cerebrovascular disease risk factors and complications. (5) Pharmacologic therapy: oral drugs such as insulinotropic agents, biguanides, thiazolidinediones, alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, DPP-4 inhibitors, and SGLT-2 inhibitors; and injectable preparations such as insulin and insulin analogs, and GLP-1 receptor agonists.
