How soon can you have intercourse after ectopic pregnancy surgery?

Intercourse is only allowed 1 month after ectopic pregnancy surgery, and the exact time varies from person to person. After ectopic pregnancy surgery, along with the removal of the ectopic pregnancy sac, the blood HCG level drops sharply, the ovarian corpus luteum function atrophies, the endometrium sheds, vaginal bleeding of different degrees may occur, and the postoperative period is often accompanied by pain in one side of the abdomen or lower abdomen, so it is recommended to prohibit sexual intercourse for 1 month to prevent uterine and pelvic infections. After ectopic pregnancy, it is necessary to observe the vaginal bleeding and the decrease in blood HCG level. Since the removal of the fallopian tube is a non-sterile incision, prophylactic oral antibiotics are also needed to prevent postoperative uterine and pelvic infections. Premature sexual intercourse may be arranged after the menstrual cycle has been cleared after ectopic pregnancy, as it is not only risky to cause uterine and pelvic infections, but also detrimental to the recovery of women’s body functions. It is not recommended to take a tub bath after ectopic pregnancy surgery, but to take a shower instead. After surgery, pay attention to recuperation and consume more high-protein foods to supplement nutrition and enhance body functions.
