Usually, clinical symptoms, laboratory biochemical tests and imaging tests are used to determine whether the condition of patients with severe pancreatitis has improved or whether they have passed the dangerous period. 1. Clinical symptoms: body temperature reduced to normal, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting reduced or disappeared, gastrointestinal function returned to normal, resumption of defecation and so on. 2. Laboratory biochemical tests: serum amylase and lipase are close to normal or gradually decreasing, respiratory function, liver function test, renal function test, blood glucose test and other indicators gradually return to normal. 3. Imaging examination: the enlarged part of pancreas gradually retracts, the exudate around pancreas is gradually absorbed, and the echogenicity of pancreatic parenchyma returns to normal. If the patient shows the above mentioned symptoms after systematic treatment, and the laboratory and imaging indexes are close to normal, it indicates that the patient’s condition has improved and passed the dangerous period.
