Healing time for each layer of the cesarean section

The healing time for each layer of the cesarean section varies and needs to be analyzed in the context of each woman’s physical condition and nutritional supplements. Usually the skin layer heals in 1-2 weeks, the muscle layer of the abdominal wall heals in 3-4 weeks, and the uterine incision usually takes 6 weeks or more to heal. There is no exact clinical healing time for each layer, but usually a cesarean section is performed by incising the abdominal wall, i.e., the skin, fat layer, anterior sheath, muscle layer, and peritoneal layer in sequence, exposing the uterus and then incising the plasma layer, myometrium, and mucosa layer of the uterus in sequence to remove the fetus. The skin and fat layers heal quickly, usually in 1-2 weeks, while the anterior sheath, muscle layer, and peritoneal layer take 3-4 weeks to heal, and the plasma layer, myometrium, and mucosa layer take roughly 6 weeks to heal. The sutures are absorbed in about 6 weeks and the wound will heal accordingly. There may be differences depending on the maternal constitution, nutrition, environment and other factors. After the incision is closed, ensure that the incision surface is clean and hygienic, avoid water, and reduce the consumption of spicy, cold, greasy and other stimulating foods to help the healing of the incision of caesarean section.
