Is hepatic ascites an advanced stage of liver cancer?

Generally speaking, liver ascites is caused by primary disease, but not necessarily advanced liver cancer. If the cause of liver ascites is liver cancer, it is usually possible to judge that liver cancer has progressed to advanced stage. This matter can be understood in two ways: First, people with some medical knowledge will know that liver ascites is mainly caused by portal hypertension or obstruction of hepatic venous return. Most of these diseases that can cause portal hypertension are caused by cirrhosis, and the most common diseases that cause cirrhosis are hepatitis B and C. In addition, schistosomal cirrhosis is not uncommon in some rivers and streams in China, and there is also a type of cirrhosis that is caused by long-term alcoholism. The main disease of obstructed hepatic venous return is a disease known as Buga syndrome. These diseases are obviously not diseases like liver cancer. Another aspect of liver cancer is that when it progresses to an advanced stage, the liver cells are severely damaged and liver function is severely lost, which can lead to problems such as persistent increased pressure in the portal vein and hypoproteinemia, which can lead to a persistent increase in ascites. Therefore, liver ascites, a clinical symptom of liver cancer, will appear in the advanced stage of liver cancer. In conclusion, liver ascites is not necessarily advanced liver cancer, but advanced liver cancer will have the manifestation of liver ascites.
