What is liposculpture?

After decades of development, with a deeper understanding of human tissue structure and further improvement of anesthesia techniques, as well as the auxiliary application of various advanced equipment in the liposuction process, many new concepts, methods and instruments have emerged, which have led to greater improvement in the effectiveness of fat aspiration surgery, as well as greater assurance of its safety. Liposuction is limited to subcutaneous fat. Theoretically, any fat under the skin can be suctioned, such as the face, neck, chest and breasts, abdomen, upper arms, back, waist, hips, thighs and calves, etc., but if it is fat from other areas, such as the abdominal cavity, it cannot be removed. The purpose of liposuction is to shape, not to reduce weight. Even if 3,000 ml of fat is suctioned at one time, the weight is only 2 kg, which has little effect on weight. Liposuction surgery is just a way to “make up for the highs and lows”, which in layman’s terms means to remove the fat that is locally prominent on your body, and to fill in the depressions if necessary, so as to create a perfect body shape. Therefore, the evaluation of liposuction is definitely not about the amount of weight loss, but whether the body shape after liposuction is just right and achieves the best effect of “concave and convex”. Secondly, in addition to the fat particles extracted during the surgery, there are also broken fat particles left in the body, which have to be gradually removed by macrophages like “scavengers” in the body. In addition, the edema does not completely subside until one month after the surgery, and it usually takes 2-3 months after the surgery to stabilize. Before liposuction surgery, a full set of physical examination should be done to make sure there are no major organ diseases, and women should avoid menstrual period, and they should be hospitalized for 3-5 days after surgery for observation. After the removal of the dressing, you need to choose a suitable tight-fitting dressing for 3 months to facilitate better skin recovery and maintenance of the body shape after liposuction surgery. In order to fully protect the safety of patients, the preoperative examination of liposuction is relatively strict and not only limited to local conditions, but also requires a comprehensive evaluation of the patient’s health status and determination of the functional status of the major organs such as the heart, liver, lungs and kidneys. Previous illnesses, allergies to any medications, whether or not they have taken diet pills, birth control pills and other medications, and whether or not they have had weight loss treatment or liposuction may all have an impact on this surgery. The waist and abdomen are the most common areas for fat aspiration, accounting for 50-75% of liposuction cases. There are gender differences in the distribution of subcutaneous fat in the abdomen, with men mainly in the upper abdomen and women having more fat in the lower abdomen than in the upper abdomen. In addition, for lower abdominal liposuction, the incision can also be chosen in hidden areas such as the groin and pubic hair distribution area. If local liposuction is performed under local anesthesia and the amount of liposuction is within 2,000 ml, hospitalization is not necessary. If liposuction is performed on more than two parts and the amount of liposuction is more than 2,500, or if liposuction is performed under semi- or general anesthesia, hospitalization for observation is required for about 3 days. After liposuction surgery, you need to be hospitalized for about 3 days for observation. Thereafter, you need to wear tight-fitting clothes and pants for a few months, which are used to compress and shape the liposuction area. It is normal for some petechiae and unevenness to appear in the liposuction area, which will take a few weeks to subside, and if the compression is not exact, there may also be localized subcutaneous fluid accumulation, which needs to be treated by a doctor. The number of fat cells in a person is constant from birth and after puberty the fat cells will only get larger in size and will no longer increase in number. Liposuction can eliminate some of the fat cells, and the remaining portion will not return to its original size even if it expands a bit. However, if you feel that having the surgery is equivalent to being in the safe and overeating, then it is not a good idea to have a good lifestyle after the surgery, especially pay attention to your diet structure, avoid high sugar, high fat and high calorie diet, and pay attention to maintain proper exercise to maintain good results after the liposuction surgery.
