Can refractive errors heal on their own?

Refractive errors in the eyes are usually not self-correcting and are most often corrected with glasses. Therefore, once you notice blurred vision, you need to seek active consultation with an ophthalmologist. Refractive errors include myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. Some children under 6 years of age with hyperopia may heal on their own with normal physiological development, and their eyes will gradually grow, thus correcting mild hyperopia, but children with high hyperopia may develop amblyopia, which is not easy to heal on their own. Myopia usually increases with growth and development and does not heal on its own, but requires surgery to improve. Astigmatism also does not usually heal on its own, and only some patients can be completely cured by surgery. The treatment of refractive error is mainly to improve vision, usually with frame glasses or corneal contact lenses for treatment, some people can also change the refractive state of glasses through surgical methods. Patients with refractive errors should pay attention to early bedtime, reduce late nights, and develop good eye habits and eye hygiene to reduce visual fatigue.
