Can refractive errors heal on their own?

Refractive errors in the eyes are not self-correcting and are usually corrected with glasses. Therefore, patients with blurred vision should seek active consultation with a hospital ophthalmologist. Refractive errors include myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. Some children under the age of 6 will develop hyperopia, but it can gradually resolve with physiological development. As the eye grows, mild hyperopia will correct and can heal itself. However, in children with high hyperopia, it may develop into amblyopia, which is not easily self-healed. Usually people with myopia usually get more myopic as they grow and do not usually heal on their own, and astigmatism does not usually heal on its own either. The treatment of refractive error of the eye is mainly to improve vision, usually with frame glasses or corneal contact lenses for treatment, and some patients can also change the refractive state of glasses through surgery. In daily life, patients with refractive errors should pay attention to early bedtime, minimize late nights, and develop good eye habits and hygiene to reduce visual fatigue.
