Commonly exposed contact allergens include hair dyes, creams, perfumes, sunscreen-type substances, topical medications, facial or head accessories, lipstick, and substances that are habitually or occasionally contained in or bitten into the mouth, such as pencils and hairpins may also cause contact allergies to occur on the skin in the mouth and lip area.
