Whether the fibroadenoma is single or multiple is determined by ultrasound before surgery, and ultrasound is preferred for young patients. The hormone level changes a lot during pregnancy, which can easily stimulate the rapid increase of fibroadenoma, and the fetus is not suitable for surgery, so it is generally recommended to operate before pregnancy. Regarding the recurrence of fibroadenoma, generally, if the original site is not cut cleanly (e.g., leaving the envelope), it is called recurrence. If the fibroadenoma occurs in another area (including the other breast), it is a recurrence. Because fibroadenoma is caused by endocrine disorders and other factors, surgery does not change the internal factors, so of course it may recur. At present, there is no medicine (including herbal medicine and Chinese medicine) that can eliminate fibroadenoma that has already been formed, and surgery is the only way. Comparatively speaking, traditional surgery is easier to remove the envelope completely and reduce the local recurrence rate. If the fibroadenoma is removed before pregnancy, breastfeeding during pregnancy and delivery will reduce the rate of fibroadenoma reoccurrence. The surgery leaves a scar, otherwise there seems to be no particular sequelae.
