Radial head subluxation in children

Radial head subluxation is a common pediatric elbow dislocation injury, mostly seen in children aged 1 to 4 years old, but it has not been clinically reported in infants under 1 year old. Because the child is still a child and has no language ability, the expression of pain can only be expressed by avoidance and crying, coupled with the parents’ unclear expression of the cause of the condition, which makes the diagnosis difficult for the doctor. The ability of the doctor to “feel the heart” is especially important at this time. The doctor should carefully “feel” the abnormal sensations and anatomical position changes under the hands according to the child’s signs, reactions and parents’ descriptions, as well as during the examination and treatment, and guide the palpation and treatment of the hands according to the knowledge of diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and treatment techniques, so as to achieve accurate “Hand palpation”. As Prof. Shang Tianyu pointed out, “(hand touch and heart meeting should be) throughout the whole process of rehabilitation”.
