Since there are extremely many diseases and factors that cause tinnitus, there are still difficulties in treatment. The aim of treatment is to reduce the symptoms of tinnitus, to contact anxiety or to adapt the patient to tinnitus. Occasional and temporary tinnitus can be treated without treatment. Frequent tinnitus or tinnitus that has affected the psyche needs to be treated actively, and the treatment methods are as follows: 1. Etiological treatment: Etiological treatment is the ideal method to treat tinnitus. If the primary lesion can be found, treatment can be directed at the primary disease, and tinnitus can disappear after the primary disease is treated. However, when the cause cannot be found, etiological treatment is more difficult. 2.Drug treatment: Drug treatment is divided into two categories, one is the treatment of the basic disease that accompanies tinnitus, and the other is symptomatic treatment. (1) Treatment of basic diseases: If the patient has otitis media, Ménière’s disease, abnormal thyroid function and other diseases, medication can be used to treat the basic diseases; if tinnitus increases after sleep or early in the morning, it may be caused by low blood sugar, so glucose water can be consumed appropriately. (2) Symptomatic treatment: antidepressants and anxiolytics can be used to alleviate the mental and psychological problems caused by tinnitus; lidocaine, clonazepam, carbamazepine and other drugs that inhibit tinnitus can be used. 3.Masking therapy: Patients can use masking devices, which emit sound to mask the sound of tinnitus. 4.Other therapies: including treatment of psychology, electrical stimulation therapy, tinnitus habit therapy to adapt to tinnitus as soon as possible, etc. 5.Surgical treatment: Some vascular tinnitus can be treated surgically to eliminate or reduce tinnitus. Since the cause of tinnitus is very complex and many patients cannot even find the cause, the treatment of tinnitus is usually a combination of multiple treatments to achieve effective results.
