Low menstrual flow in two or three days should be combined with other symptoms to identify and regulate, usually divided into blood deficiency and blood stasis types. 1. If the low menstrual flow is gone in two or three days, if it is accompanied by pale menstruation, weakness, pale face, pale lips and nails, etc., then it is identified as blood deficiency, and it can be adjusted by taking foods or medicines to replenish blood, such as jujubes, Angelica sinensis, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Agaricus Bidentatae, and so on. 2. If the menstrual period is scanty for two or three days, if it is accompanied by dark menstruation, blood clots, dysmenorrhea, dark tongue or petechiae, then it is identified as blood stasis and can be regulated by taking medicines to invigorate blood circulation and eliminate stasis in the body, e.g. Shaohuayouhuayu Tang (少腹逐瘀汤). There is no need to be anxious if the occasional scanty menstrual flow disappears in two or three days, but if it occurs for a long period of time and is accompanied by other serious discomforts, one should consult a doctor in a timely manner. In addition, Chinese medicines should be taken under the guidance of a professional Chinese medicine practitioner.
