Are the sequelae of novel coronavirus pneumonia serious?

Whether a patient with novel coronavirus pneumonia develops sequelae should be determined by the severity of the new coronavirus pneumonia, which is usually not severe. Patients with mild cases of neocoronavirus pneumonia recover with gradually diminishing lung shadows, usually leaving only fibrous streaks, which have no effect on lung function, and this does not become a clinical sequelae. In severe pneumonia caused by a new coronavirus infection, the involvement of both lungs is more serious, and even if the symptoms subside after symptomatic treatment, the excessive deposition of fibrous streaks after the disease is healed leads to lesions in the lungs and impaired respiratory function, which may later lead to the inability of patients to perform strenuous activities. If no symptoms such as reduced exercise tolerance and restricted activity remain after rehabilitation, it means that there are no sequelae from pneumonia caused by infection with the new coronavirus.
