Glue-bonded surgical incisions have the characteristics of fast healing, less infection, less scarring, less pain, aesthetic appearance, and no stitch removal. After the incision is glued, we cover the incision with gelatin sponge in order to strengthen the incision and prevent the skin and dressing from misadhesion. After the incision heals, the gelatin sponge automatically falls off (usually about 3 weeks after surgery). Before the gelatin sponge falls off, it needs to be disinfected regularly to prevent infection. During the postoperative stay, professional doctors have a lot of experience to judge when disinfection is needed, but what should be done after discharge without professional doctors to observe the incision? We suggest: 1. Do not cover the incision with gauze and other dressings to prevent the sweat at the incision from evaporating in time (there are a lot of bacteria in the sweat) and increase the chance of incision infection. 2, every 2 to 3 days with 75% medical alcohol will cover the incision of the gelatin sponge soaked through once, natural drying. 3.If you sweat more and there is sweat at the incision, disinfect the incision once (soak through) with 75% medical alcohol immediately. 4, the hair outside the incision can be cleaned, but to prevent the incision on the water, if the accidental incision on the water, instantly disinfect the incision with 75% medical alcohol once (soaked) can be. 5, alcohol disinfection should not be too frequent, and can not use “tincture of iodine” type of disinfectant with strong skin destruction ability, to prevent epidermal necrosis of the incision and its surrounding skin. 6, avoid scratching the incision, tearing and other violent injuries. 7.If the incision is red, swollen, hot, painful, broken and flowing water, pus and other manifestations, immediately find a professional surgeon to deal with.
