What kind of appearance is called beautiful

From the aesthetic point of view, human beauty, as a part of natural beauty, refers first of all to beauty in appearance, form and physique. And all forms of human beauty are undoubtedly reflected prominently in the appearance. Appearance is mainly composed of the five facial features. The beauty of appearance concentrates on the proportionality of the teeth, jaws and facial structure, the coordination of size and position, and the beauty and naturalness of the outline. What is beauty in appearance? Researchers have found some more reliable digital standards. First, the width of the eye is 3/10 of the width of the face; second, the length of the jaw is 1/5 of the length of the face; third, the distance from the center of the eye to the eyebrow is 1/10 of the length of the face; fourth, the longitudinal length of the eye visible on the front is 1/14 of the length of the face; fifth, the area of the nose should account for less than 5% of the area of the face; sixth, the width of the mouth should be 1/2 of the width of the mouth. if a person’s appearance exceeds or is lower than the above standards, then they are not beautiful or not very beautiful people. But most of these are criteria that researchers have come up with from some studies of Westerners, and they have not yet been able to elucidate more deeply what the criteria for a satisfactory or beautiful face really are. So do the Chinese have such criteria? The answer is yes. Some researchers in China have made facial measurements on some publicly recognized beauties, such as movie stars and some young women with outstanding appearance, and obtained some specific geometric images and data of beauties. Specifically, the facial shape of beauty is oval, the jaw angle spacing is 115mm, and the jaw height is 124mm. if the jaw spacing is reduced by 10mm on the basis of the standard facial appearance, it will look more ugly. If the distance between the jaws is further reduced on this basis, it will become what people call a “sharp-tongued” face, which is offensive. The above aspects have basically explained the aesthetic standards and situation of human face in Chinese and foreign cultures, but so far it is still difficult to find complete and detailed absolute standards of beauty. This is the relativity of beauty and the difference of individual sensation, which leaves a rich space of imagination for beauty and aesthetics. The lips and their aesthetics: The lips play an important role in the appearance, and its dynamic beauty is far better than the eyes, which are the focus of human emotional impulses, so some people call them “charm points”. Leonardo da Vinci in the famous portrait painting “Mona Lisa’s smile” in the most successful place is in the mouth and lips. According to the aesthetic point of view, the mouth and lips are second only to the eyes in facial importance, and sometimes even better than the eyes. A normal and beautiful upper lip is bow-shaped when viewed from the front. The junction between the red lips and the skin is called the red edge of the lips; the longitudinal ditch of the upper lip skin from the nasal pillar to the red edge of the lips is called the human middle; there is a longitudinal ridge of skin on both sides of the human middle called the human middle ridge; the red lips below the human middle are nodular and called the lip beads. From the side view, the upper lip is slightly longer than the lower lip, gently covering the lower lip and slightly protruding up. The length of the upper lip should be similar to the height of the tip of the nose, and at a 90° angle to the nasal minors. Teeth and their aesthetics: From ancient times to the present, in many literary works and folk customs, a beautiful man or woman is inevitably crowned with the words “bright eyes and white teeth”. It is evident that from ancient times to modern times, people attach great importance to the beauty of their teeth. The status of white and straight teeth in the appearance of beauty is extraordinary. Some people liken teeth to the second face of a person, and it seems to be not too much. The relationship between lips and teeth and their aesthetics: the shape of the lips is closely related to the front teeth, especially the front teeth of the upper jaw, so there is a “lip and teeth depend on each other”.
